Paul-

That lowered "9" is a part of the common design type used around the worldwide French community.

Welcome Kathy,
nice images.
If you wish free software to align your images,
Google put out "Picasa" which has a free rotate adjustment
option.
Hope to see lots more

I don't think these have appeared in this thread yet?

The 1912 "Ideal" stamp from the International Stamp Exhibition in London. I've heard conflicting information on the total number of colors these can be found in. No fewer than five, and probably a few more than that...there are perf and imperf examples, and a couple different paper types.

There are 20 colours existing in both perf and Imperf. There are also reproductions, issues on thick card,Printed on gummed side, offsets, larger versions etc.
There are also other colours that have not been catalogued up to now.
More info is needed.
Some colours are quite scarce.
In total 24,000 labels were produced at the show.
The Downey Head design of GV was so disliked that the Junior Philatelic Society [Now NPS] held a competition to find the 'Ideal' stamp. This was the winning design by T.S. Harrison. Printed by Waterlow Bros. and Layton.
[British Philatelic Exhibitons by Glenn Morgan and Graham Wilson]

This can be a collection in it's own right, although I find them surprisingly hard to come by.

Here are a few bits from the Mother of all Philatelic festivals....London 2010 [Oh No, groan, hiss ,boo]

The KGV £1 UPU reproduction has been shown elsewhere I believe.
So here are a few other bits that arrived for the Festival.

The first, and Best, is a Book.
Issued on the opening Day of the Empire Mails Exhibition at the Guildhall Art Gallery together with a set of fine Postcards which I will show later.
The Book is written by Douglas Muir and is superb, easily the best item I spent my hard earned money on in London. Beautifully illustrated, a wonderful insight into the Philatelic goings-on surrounding KGV. A Must.

Some dealers have this occupation of making their own philatelic souvenirs. But I like these, don't ask me why, I just do.

The first one is a Festival overprint in Metallic Green on the original Logo Pane [SG1671m]

The second is in Metallic Red on the Third-Issue pane, no Logo, Roul 10. [SG1671mb]
