Here are two examples of the Type 1 Liannos (Turkish local post) newspaper stamps, in red and blue. These are handstamps dating from 1865.


These are 3-1/2 paras, as I believe all of them are. So much of the Liannos material ended up on the collector market that it makes you think that these are not forged. I guess that's good.

Anyway, these are my first examples, so I have nothing to compare them to. Any additional information or comments are welcome. If you have other colors, please post them. (Varieties in both ink and paper make for many combinations.)
For future searches, I'll mention that Types II and III have the P.L. with serifs. Type III has one line below the 'X' and Type II has two lines below the 'X'.
