A while back I posted how I was getting back into stamp collecting. Well since then I purchased about a dozen or so various inexpensive lots from ebay.
Overall I have no big complaints and I'm not too disappointed.
But one thing that's common too almost all orders I've noticed is that there are quite a bit of stamps stuck to pages, cards and each other.
What I want to know is if that's considered normal. I can look at my albums from many years ago and sure, there's a few stamps stuck to pages, but that's due to my neglect over the years. I wouldn't expect someone buying them to overlook the stuck stamps.
Am I expecting too much? Or is stamps stuck to pages just part of the game?

I just bought a box of 2 pounds of worldwide stamps and had the same problem, There were four or five clumps stuck together, but the rest were fine. First time I've ever experienced this, and I buy a lot of large packages of stamps.

I bought a very nice collection of New Zealand and it arrived wet. The one stamp I bought it for remained dry, thankfully.

Phil,
You might be surprised how many old collections were stored in attics and damp basements when the collctor lost interest or passed away.
When I buy kiloware, I am not surprised to see an occasional clump of stamps. However, when I am buying an album or pages of mounted stamps, I expect the seller to disclose the fact that some of the stamps are stuck to the page so I can make an informed choice.
ebay allows you to ask the seller questions. If you have doubts about the material, ask. The answer/no answer will tell you a lot.

Hi,
Over the last year I have purchased almost 200 (honest!) stamp auctions off of ebay. Three sellers made up half of those auctions as the value was definitely there and I went back for more. My only disappointments with the others were the fact that they were hinged on album pages with non-peelable hinges - meaning I had to cut up the pages and soak/dry the stamps. The worst auctions (2) had stamps adhered with tape type hinges that gave an oil stain to the stamps. Fortunately there was little money involved, and they were early on in my buying spree - which prompted me to ask direct questions of sellers on later auctions.

To answer your question, I never experienced you particular problem - and it looks like I have been pretty fortunate.

My advice - assuming you are still building up the bulk of your collection - is to buy albums (with stamps of course) from individual sellers rather than dealers on ebay. I did 13 of those, and most held some nice surprises.
