In the covers thread I discover bus post that use to run in Germany. In my Denmark stamps I found one about train post. It's Scott #1077 issued in 1997 for the ending of the train post (1856-1997). Never eared before of these postal systems.

Timbres667, that is a pretty stamp. Years ago, when I was a young man in the Netherlands my father had a business and did quite a bit of mailing packages. If something was very important and had to be there the same day, I would take it to the railroad station and "mail" it by train. Belgium issued special railroad stamps for that purpose!

Railway postage handling was very common, at least in Europe, up to the 1980 decade. So we've the "TPO" in Britain, and so on...

Thanks for your posts. Now that you wrote about postal trains and special railroad stamps in belgium I remember about them. I just read that there was also postal trains in the USA and in Canada until the 70's.
