Thanks for the information. None of the Smilers sheets I have are early ones or "Limited" ones, and I checked them individually with respect to
ebay "Sold" results, which is usually a good barometer if the sample size is large enough.
The nice thing is that all of the Smilers and souvenir sheets were stored in pages/mounts, so virtually none are creased, dog-eared, etc. The condition overall is pristine.
I think that what I may do is still treat the whole thing as a face value lot, but include all the souvenir sheets and Smilers sheets as (1) an incentive to buy the lot, and (2) to justify a higher percentage.
For example, rather than discounting from face, I might offer the lot at full face value, but that face value total includes 15 Smilers sheets.
I think it will ultimately be a good lot for someone, because it's not just a bunch of leftover postage. It's material pulled from hingeless album pages, 90%+ complete sets, 85%/15% commemoratives/definitives, minimal duplication, and 99.xx% mint never hinged (a few stamps have the occasional toning spot and a few have a stuck-down spot.
There are also some used (CTO I presume) souvenir sheets and some Beatles issue First Day Covers, that I'll throw in as a bonus.
It would be more suited for a collector than someone wanting to use as discount postage.
