If someone can explain the meaning of the overprint on this Gabon stamp and date of issue, please do. Can't find much about it in my stamps books.

This stamp is listed in SG Simplified under Gabon, issued 1924, inscribed "Afrique Equatoriale Gabon" and overprinted "Afrique Equatoriale Francaise" (SG89).
