Here's a trip down memory lane. It's something I found on the internet that goes back to the late 1930s and early 1940s ... Associated Dealers (Tide Water Associated Oil Company) ... later "Flying A" Gas Stations ... had a poster stamp promotion back in the day.

I happened to be on the Duke University website of billboards and came up with these images of period billboards that were used to advertise the promotion back in the day:



A further web search revealed these examples of some of the stamps and the booklet provided as sort of an "album". It certainly brings back memories of yesteryear when you used to get some sort of a premium with your gasoline purchase:

Nice billboards... lovely nostalgia.
The top two pics are advertising the 2nd series.

I have the first series 1-100, here are a few:



It's a lovely series and they have more than a little value.
These were later followed by the 'Tidal Flying' series. I'll show some later.

Great stuff.

Here is a sheet of Tydol Flying Poster stamps. There is much similarity in design with the 'Associated' types.

Another great series.
