I do not. I think most of our Canadian collectors (including me) prefer the Unitrade Catalogue.
Maybe someone will contradict me....

I agree with Kirk. Best reference for Canadian stamps is Unitrade. I also do like many collectors...I buy every 2 or 3 yrs, and that seems to meet most of my needs (I just noticed this is my 500th post...) |

Hi jogil,
I have the 2008 Stanley Gibbons Canada catalogue. But I only use it as a general reference for the Canadian Provinces, which are my main interest. I imagine the Unitrade would be much better, but I have yet to acquire a copy. In General I find Stanley Gibbons catalogues hard work with confusing layout, contents page (if they have one) never where you would expect to find it, and small print. I am gradually replacing mine with better references. I now have Balian for my Egypt and Scott specialized for my USA collections. I would like a copy of The Nile Post but the copies I have come across are hugely expensive. Australia and Canada next up for replacement. So can anyone suggest a good catalogue for the Australian States?

I also use the Unitrade Catalogue. Maybe the Gibbons version might list different varieties, I don't know?

I have a 2001 British Commonwealth Stanley Gibbons, which includes Canada, but I almost exclusively use Unitrade. |

Have just purchased 2012 S.G. Commonwealth and British Empire Stamps.! 1840-1970. An amazing reference for a new convert and also quite daunting.! Seems to have an extensive Australian States section but as this is my first catalogue I have nothing to compare it with.! |

In terms of Canada and provinces, I have used only the Unitrade (or in the 1970s, Scott). in my humble opinion, SG is waste of time for these countries, and i'd go a step further and say that when I encounter a seller or trader or individual that cites SG, I have found them to be largely uninformed. Again--just with regard to Canada/provinces.
congrats to 500 posts... |

I ordered a Stanley Gibbons Canada catalogue out of curiosity online (since I have the Unitrade Canada specialized catalogue) at some book seller or book dealer on an online auction site. I waited for several weeks for it to arrive, but it never arrived at all. I did manage to get my money back, but I don't know why the seller still has several listed for sale when I didn't receive any book from them. |
