I was searching ebay.....came across the titled item 151122464663....viewed the price and then noticed the seller had 0 feedback. I politely sent a email to the seller stating the item is nowhere worth his asking price.....actually stated not worth $5
Naturally I get a reply back.....I dont know what Im talking about....I should do a google search for 1c Franklin and I will see.
Guess we will see.....

I guess anyone can list anything for any amount.
Remember ebay does get a listing fee....

The reason I did send the email....YES, his profile.
He has 0 feedback.....was just trying to educate him.
Guess it does not work. I will not do that again.

I love the 3˘ Pink where the seller placed the stamp over the PF description trying to hide the cleanedcancel and faded comments. Just another clueless idiot.

Actually, a deceptive seller, not clueless. That was deliberate. I still don't know who he is supposedly selling to. Doesn't everyone check for comparables these days?

....well, it looks like his/her rating won't be climbing too quickly, or if his pricing is correct it turns out I'm stinkin' rich and didn't even know it.

The listing referenced is astounding. He lists a #24 with perfs trimmed off for that kind of money? And the certificate- never heard of that grading service. Sad thing is someone who is equally dumb will buy it.

His other listings are equally hilarious. I think this guy got these in a box lot someplace- someone's dregs and he thinks they are worth a mint. No Scott numbers, just generic descriptions. Couldn't even arrange them neatly for photos.

I'd love to know what this guy told the OP when he contacted him. I used to contact sellers on stuff like this but gave up after getting a vile nasty reply from one. You can't fix stupid..

ebay is full of these clowns nowadays. All it takes is one 'sucker' to bite. I'm quite sure the seller isn't stupid. This is a straight on hustle being perpetrated. There likely isn't a 'rube' around to bite, as most fools have already been parted from their money due to the worldwide economy..

But it's like fishing.. Throw a few hooks in the water. At those prices, you only need one bite.

I'm quite sure the user has had ID's before, and deserted them when some duped buyer started leaving nasty feedback.

Gotta admit though, I got a good laugh looking at some of his/her auctions. Remind me of my favorite ever, from about 10 years ago - somebody listed a used 10 cent Jefferson Memorial (sc #1510), common as dishwater as a general use stamp back in the 70s - as a rarity with a minimum bid of $500..

... and it sold.

It sold? That is incredible. As for the current overpricing seller; I contacted him about two stamps from his/her page of early classics. I was not expecting (but still hoping) to receive a reasonable answer. The seller was quite nice with his reply but still with a ridiculous price of $400 for the damage 90 cent stamp. The other was also $400 but if it really were an 85E in what looks like unused condition, I'd be tempted to go for it. But the request I sent for the back of the stamp was also a blurry photo. I replied asking for high definition pic since I wanted to see details of the grill. That was 4 days ago and no new reply. So it appears I am receiving what I originally expected which is receive no reply. It makes it look like "deceptive seller" is trumping "clueless" seller.
