tonymacq: I have found that the underscore of the smaller 'oo' on the obvious $50 is even with the base of the '50'. this further lends to the stamp being a $50 (vice $5). I thank you for translating the characters. I guess I can catalog these. thnx |

I remembered this older thread as I was looking through some older Chinese items. Here, I have two Scott 923. At first, I was wondering because the two stamps are of different heights (18.2 mm vs 17.8mm), but then I saw the Scott note: 923, Type VI No projection (Dah Tung Book Co.) 923a, Type V Projection on left frame columns below foliate ornament (Dah Yeh Printing Co.) I think I have it. So here is Scott 923a and 923, side-by-side: 923a, with projection: 923, No projection: |

New (Part) stamp arriving across my desk. Request any assistance with gossip / information, listed anywhere? Label on back, as found. All other scans results of Google. |

Your stamp is the right-most stamp in a 5-part strip, Scott China (ROC) #E10(1914). There is an older thread somewhere on SCF where we discussed these. |

I was not able to find my older post, but I see the information that I posted regarding how the strip of 5 was used is in the header information for the China Special Delivery section in Scott.
In 2017 Scott, your used single is valued at US$50. Your usage is before the other stamps in the strip were demonetized. In your post you showed a pic of a stamp with a "D" handstamp -- that is an example of usage after the demonetization (i.e., all stamps valid as receipts only, not just the end stap in the strip). |

Hi Rod,
The green stamp is from a 1908 post card (H&G 6) or the corresponding reply card (H&G 7). |

Sc#258 10c Junk. 1923 (2nd Peking printing) Lines around the stamp? Not seen before, would this be from a booklet pane, perhaps? (fragment of cover still attached, not soaked) |
