Yesterday, a Philatelic official advised me that the next Details will be issued in on-line and hard copy formats, in January, at the time of or even after the issuance of some 2014 stamps.

Currently, the CP site gives a general write up on each of the proposed 2104 issues, but without issuance dates or any indication as to being printed in panes, booklets, coils, souvenir sheets, etc.

This makes it extremely difficult for me to leave a list of "wants" with my local postmaster and to create special FDCs in advance of new issues, when I'm out of Canada in December/January.

I'm seriously thinking that CP Philatelic needs new management who cares about the needs of collectors. There should always be timely notices and CP's local agent should be able to sell indvidual stamps from any type of printing regardless of their UPC inventory system.

These are my opinions only.

Good points blackjag and I agree with you.

Canada Post still has to learn that the collector who buys all these stamps for his / her collection and not used for postage, is pure gravy for them. There should be better communication between CP and the collector.

Was nice seeing you again in Barrie last week. In all, I have met 3 SCF members - hope to meet more too.

I never get my Details on time. Mine always arrives a few days to a week after the first scheduled stamp is issued.

The Jan-Feb 2014 Details was posted online today (Jan 6/14).

It is now in a new size, with English-only and French-only versions being separate.

And, they are publishing 8 times a year now, instead of 4.

Here is the English link: http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/per...ications.jsf

When I saw the new mini-version of Details I thought the change was made to save money. Boy, was I wrong.According to Jim Philips, Director, Stamp Services, it was reduced in size to make it "easier to hold and read".

Thank you Mr. Philips for your honesty. Now if you could make it just a little smaller it could fit in my shirt pocket. Please think about it.

Studystamp, I believe there is only 1 version. It is bilingual. Flip the French version over and you get the English version

Has anyone received the latest Details in the mail? Is it different from the one that is available at post offices?

The copy I have, received at a local post office the other day, is in fact English on one side and French on the other.

It is interesting that there is a note on both sides that if you did not receive "this publication in the language of preference" to e-mail for one. Why would they have such a notice if the single copy includes both languages in it?

My initial comment (of 2 separate 'versions') was based on reading the on-line PDF copies and interpreting the above note that implied that there were 2 different Details.

Which brings me back to the first question above ... has anyone received their mailed copy of Details and is it one-language only or bilingual?

By the way, is it just me, or does it seem like there is less descriptive information about each stamp in this new smaller sized magazine?

Have you also noticed that the quantities for each issue are no longer the quantity of the number of stamps but rather the quantity of full panes? Odd.

There must be more than 1 version then. Here is a scan of the front cover, as well as the center page that shows half in Francais, half in English

One clarification on my previous post. I may have missed a key point in the question asked. Mine is from local post office, not "received in the mail" from Canada Post
