So you're still at it,eh wert ? Careful you don't strain
your eyes.

I have seen similar hair lines on CBNC engraved stamps
but don't recall if on the Sc 450.
I could check my stock but I'm too lazy to get off my chair
right now.

If you really want to "flyspeck" that stamp, checkout the first "A" in "CANADA". It looks like it's missing a small piece off the top of the letter!

wert, it looks like there is also a dot in the selvedge, in between the eleventh and twelfth perforation.
Personally, I also do a lot of flyspecking. I collect the Transportation Coils of the USA, and the first 17 of these were printed on the Cottrell presses by the BEP. These stamps had an enormous amount of unprinted area, and also had an enormous amount of 'gripper cracks' and Layout Markings. Looking for those made me find lots of "flyspecks'!
The 'ink smudge' that you found could be a piece of thread that stuck to the plate; I have found similar looking 'smudges' on my stamps!
