I've been using Staples 67 lb. ivory cover stock to print my album pages.

Well, today discovered that the toner from my LaserJet 4200 won't stick to the pages very well. I printed some pages I made out today and went to mount stamps. I noticed smears all over the bottom of the page. Printed a new one and was able to rub off the toner pretty easily.

So, just to make sure it wasn't my printer, I printed the same page on a piece of stand white office paper.

Nothing would rub off.

So, I printed the remaining pages out on my Inkjet.

I guess it's time to find a new brand of paper to use.

Andy

The laser printer use a heated fuser roller to set the toner. If the humidity is high you might not get good fusing especially with thicker paper. Before changing the paper your using try drying it in your oven at about 125 degrees for a few minutes. This might take care of your problem.

It is the paper, you are using paper that is outside of the LaserJet 4200 specifications. HP warns against using paper that thick and notes "…do not use paper heavier than 200 g/m2 (53 lb) in Tray 1 or 120 g/m2 (32 lb) in other trays. Paper that is too heavy might cause misfeeds, stacking problems, jams, poor toner fusing, poor print quality, or excessive mechanical wear."
Here are the supported paper types from HP

I just followed this doc and changed my fuser mode to HIGH2 for cardstock. I'll test that tomorrow and see how it goes.
