Ok, for the strip of 11, I assume 3437 is Matt Smith and it works down from there?
And the booklet of 3, which one is 3448, 3449 and 3450?
And what is SG3451?

Just sent an email to Stanley Gibbons asking for permission to use their catalogue numbers on my pages. We'll see what they say.
I guess I need to make an A4 version of the pages also. |

Hi apastuszak,
If Stanley Gibbons has any sense they will pay you so they can use your pages.

Quote:Generally speaking, the 'exploded' panes will have more value as a set than the unexploded booklet. Just look on any dealer list, ebay or auction site. I used to buy two booklets and keep one whole and seperate the other but it became too expensive when Royal Mail [Bless 'em] decided to start issuing more than two a year. It became too much. If you want to explode the booklet to display it and keep the value at the same time then there is only one way to do it [I did it for member Partime, he knows !]. You must carefully open the booklet around the middle page and bend it back as far as you can without doing any damage. The thread will be revealed. Now take a very sharp [new blade] japanese knife [or similar] and cut the thread all the way along being careful NOT to touch the pages. Then slowly pull the pages apart. Prestige booklet panes have much more value and are more sought after if they have stitch-holes.You will often see them advertised as such. It is not difficult, just take it slowly. Londonbus1 Ok, I burst the book apart. Thanks for the tip. It was easier than I thought it was going to be. Now, do I save all the pages, or just the ones with stamps on them? What does the average British collector do? |

I save the pages elsewhere except for any theme I might want and those I display in clear pockets so both sides are readable. Glad it worked out OK. Londonbus1 |

Ok, these Stanley Gibbons catalog numbers are confusing the hell out of me. Here's the page from Gibbons Stamp Monthly with the details of the Doctor Who release: So, by this sheet, the Prestige Book pane with the TARDIS and Machin stamps is numbered UHP29. And the next line says "UHP29 (containing Nos. UG24, UG31, UG53, UG148, W2737x4) (26.3.13)" Why do some numbers start with W and others with UG? |
