Scott only helps me a little. Greece 208 and 226 differ in Engraved and Lithographed. However, 226 states that it was re-issued in 1926 in Vienna from new plates that only had slight differences in minor details. In my examples, the left stamp design is 20.5 mm wide at its widest point. The right stamp is only 19.5 wide. Plus there are color differences, with the right hand stamp noticeably darker. Any ideas?

Check to see if the stamps are engraved or lithographic...

Rubbing the stamp with foil over the top will tell you...
* Engraved will leave an image on the foil
* Lithographic will not

If lithographic, check to see if it is the Vienna issue..

The Hellas2010 catalogue on pages 150-151 give several differences.

One of the differences is the Vienna 1 drachma value will have delta and P, and the M and H script touching each other toward the bottom of the lettering, while the Aspiotis issue will have these letters with separation.

Can you tell which one you have now?

Not yet, but I did discover a new use for my aluminum foil ... Thank you for the excellent demonstration.
