The first stamp in my collection, a precancel. Cancelled on day of issue with only 10,000 produced.

That is not a precancel, it is a First Day Cover with a day of issue cancellation.

"Precancel" means the stamps are sold cancelled - for use by bulk commercial mailers so they by-pass the normal cancellation process. Precancels cannot be used for private mail - only corporate or institutional.
