Here are 3 stamps from my Germans that I thought were interesting.
2 obviously due to the high valuation. The other for the "Ukraine"
overprint or precancel.

I assume that the high stamps are from the hyperinflation era.
So the Ukraine stamp is the one that I am most interested in
hearing about. Can you tell me? Do I have the other 2 pegged,
or is there something I need to know about them? Thanks!

I had no illusions that they were valuable.

However I do find it odd that the 3rd is listed as
Russian. Ukrainian maybe, I figured German, but
Russian seems totally out of place.

the Ukraine was occupied by the Soviet forces November 1920 and did not gain independance until Dec. 26, 1991. It was part of russia during that time except for a brief occupation by the Germans during WWII

Ziggy is right about the value of mint inflation era stamps. They were probably printed by the billions (maybe an exageration!). On the other hand, a nice full set of expertized postally used (not CTO)inflations would is something I can probably never afford. For example, 241-278 are listed at $5458 in the 2009 Scotts. Mint is $22.45.

I have mint!

I have a lot of postally used inflation stamps available for trade or sale. Not expertized though. The real art is to find out if they were cancelled in the right period and not CTO/favour cancelled afterwards.
Besides Ukraine overprints you can also find Hitler stamps with "Ostland". They were for the occupied areas of Estonia, Lithaunia, Latvia and northern Russia.

My problem is that I'm not nearly smart enough or energetic enough to do that.
