Hello to everyone ! Here is a picture of two Tasmanian stamps (by themselves quite common and not in perfect shape) strikingly different in colour. Not exluding the possibility of the lighter one having been affected by someone somehow, I'd still want to ask if anybody has ever seen or heard about this light tint. Thank you !

Hi CollGStamps
I may be wrong but to me it looks like the same stamp but faded. One possible cause for fading is the exposure to sunlight.

Possibly, maybe, just might be the genuine article and color. These two stamps are genuine articles and colors as posted on Stampboards nearly a year ago. Similar faded looking appearance with nice postmarks but obviously nowhere near conclusive. Might be worth asking around. |

Thank you, scotzm, for you supposition. I do not claim anything. I would only like someone to tell me if this stamp with this colour is known or seen anywhere. |

I've noticed this forum has got lots of members from Australia. So the question might be then addressed directly to them: Have you ever seen or heard of this stamp being this colour? |

Hi CollGStamps,
I would advise that you change your thread title from "Please Advise" to something relating to your topic, like "Request Australian colour changes".

I have 6 of the 2d brown/purple Tasmania's in various shades from light brown to purpleish brown sorry I don't have the Scott number for it,I think age and the way it's removed from the cover has a lot to do with the fading.
this is just my observation.

No, nuggethill, neither Scott, nor even SG mention this tint. As to age, it looks quite fresh, same as other tints I have got. |

Here is a picture of the stamp with some others to compare. The light one does not seem to be any more faded then the rest, at least I think so. |
