Poll Question:
It has been suggested that I'm "one of those "get off my lawn" type of folks". I can assure you that I'm not. I'm the type of guy that fires 2 shots in the air first, then ask you over for a beer.

Art

So, what type of guy or gal are you?

Choices:
Get off my lawn
Turn your cheek
Ignore the event
Calls the cops
Grabs another piece of cheese & whines
Invites the person over for a beer
Call that person a name
Fires 2 shots in the air 1st
Puts up a fence
Installs land mines

Same here! By the way Art, that second line must be "turn your cheek"? And have a great day!

I voted "ignore", but it would be more accurate to say "bury head in sand".

This comes from an experience about a year ago when we woke up to armed officers moving around outside the house. It turns out the SWAT team was apprehending a robbery suspect one house over. I'm still unsettled by the memory.

For years I was a 'I'll start being nicer when people start being smarter' kind of guy but have had a change of attitude as I've grown older. Beer helps this transition!

The town where I live is becoming increasingly unfriendly. Any normal verbal interaction now seems to bring about more defensive aggressive responses than friendly. As you may know handguns are banned in the UK, which is probably a good thing as I have had two encounters in the last year in which my two warning shots would have been aimed chest height.

The landmines was the closest thing to my normal reaction. I'm not too friendly for trespassers. If there were a combination 'fire two shot and land mines' that'd be closer to my approach. In my experience, someone trespassing is likely up to no good.

KGV, here we call this Arctic Hurricane a "Polar Vortex"! I guess Art's little poll keeps our minds off the cold?

Yesterday morning it was 7 degrees here. That is cold; our heating systems are not really build for this! Right now it is 34! Today it was at one point 48, felt like spring out there!
