I receive pdf files on a regular basis and for me it is not too difficult. Where I have a problem is how do you resize a photo within the file. My requirements are 4.8 by 4.8 and as an example the last file I received was 6.5 by 6.5 and I couldn't make it any other size. There doesn't appear to be a way to resize. I have Windows 7 with the current Adobe Reader. Tom
sdtom: To edit pdf's you need a pdf editor, a programme that will look into & separate the various elements of a pdf such as text & images so that you can access them & modify/extract them. Sometimes this is not possible, if the pdf creator has "locked" the pdf you can't do anything with it other than converting to an image(eg. jpeg) & then use an image editor such as photo shop, etc. but that changes the whole document, not just the section you need unless you cut out the selection, modify it, & then repaste into your original image.
I don't know of any imaging software that will edit pdfs directly
I use Nitro Pro, punch 'edit pdf' into google & there are lots of links to do this sort of stuff, there is a trial version of Nitro Pro I notice. In this you can select just the image, resize it directly. maybe move it if needed. Select the text, change/resize the font & then save your new modified pdf
I open a page, make a dupe converted to jpeg or tiff, and use Photoshop to edit the stamp boxes, eliminating borders, any unwanted boxes, convert black line of boxes to grey, and change or eliminate typeface (I handwrite all headings, numbers, and information text. As I don't collect everything and am realistic about stamps I will never afford, I basically I use Steiner's pages along with catalogues as a guide and a check sheet for my own page make-ups.
