+++ Daniel Behrens Curtis +++

I regret to inform you of the untimely death on 7th January of Daniel Behrens Curtis, of Tampa, Florida, at the age 77, due to complications resulting from an accidental fall. Dan was well known in serious philatelic circles as the penultimate collector, as well as being a fine gentleman.

Although the "The Daniel B. Curtis Collection: 1847-1901 United States Stamp Issues" was hammered at the 7th November 2013 Robert A. Siegel Auction No. 1057, Dan retained and continued numerous other important collections, including a very comprehensive gathering of early issue U.S. Revenues collected as high quality multiples.

Dan's obituary and announcements for his services will be found at: bcmacdill.tributes.com/our_obituaries/Daniel-Behrens-Curtis-97626777

He wil be missed ...

Chuck Cwiakala

Sorry to hear this revcollector.

It is always sad to hear that a well known name has gone. As we say in the hobby, an unfortunate and sad addition to "Closed Albums".

Thanks for letting us know.

At least there's some closure in knowing he's passed. Shame it had to be the way it was.
