Hello all,
I'm new here and I have an interesting stamp identification. I have in my possession what appears to be two different types of stamps printed on the same sheet. I've identified them as Scott#508&510(I think).

I haven't found any information on this type of thing occurring before. So, I'm wondering if this is legitimate? Could anyone give me any insight on these stamps?

Thanks for your help

Hi Goongumpas, and welcome to the forum! Your stamps are called "se-tenant" and yes, it is legitimate and in fact happens a lot!

Welcome Goon,

I see in the Michel Germany specialized catalog, setenant 4pf+6pf Hitler heads being listed as "aus Automatenrollen". My philatelic German is so-so, but I think those stamps were dispensed by a machine from a roll of stamps.

Thank you, Robert, and now I remember the reason for the mixed denominations. Back in the "old days" these stamp dispensers could not give back change. This way, if you put in a 10 pfennig piece you would get "your money's worth"!
The same thing applied to ( and still does ) booklets and souvenir sheets.
