Coinwatcher..please don't think I am being ignorant asking this question....but is this stamp cut from and old pre stamped post card....???..why I asked is most people cutting with scissors would make a curved line as they are cutting...as in the left side and the bottom of the stamp...also..does the stamp seem thicker than normal...??? |

No it is not from a postcard, has normal thickness. I believe cut from imperf pair. I think that is the only way to get a single imperf. |

Nice copy. I had one here to look at at one time. Beautiful to see so well scanned and bright colour, albeit ink spattered to hold it down to earth.
I think the bright white of the paper precludes it from being a postal card cut square or cut out or a newspaper wrapper single.
I am caught up now in examining details like engraving mistakes and the like. I notice the top of the crowns are different from left to right. The right one being perhaps less over inked so as to reveal the original white side supporting lines inside the upper crown, but the extra white dot on top does stand out.
Perhaps this does fall within a general design of heavy on the left, more closed in and protected to the stamp purchaser and user of the epriod, while the right side having more space around the maple leaves and seeming lighter and more uplifting, as a King would enjoy his realm to be I suppose.

COINWATCHER...I apologize if it sounded like I thought you cut it out from a postcard...I was wondering why the borders were so big, but when I pulled out my #137, I see that mine were big to..Good stamp. |

That is a pre-printing paper crease which is a natural occurrence. That is a neat find! Some more dramatic creases create a wide gap in the stamp when unfolded. Here is an example from my Small Queen collection. GJP |

That is a real beauty Garfield.
I have seen this type of error before, but, this one is one of the more 'dramatic' types. A real gem to say the least.
