Just curious if anyone has Scott International sized album pages in another company's binders? Many binders are sized for standard 8 1/2 x 11 pages, the Scott's are approximately 9 3/4 x 11 1/2 or so as most folks know. I have some worldwide pages printed up on the Scott paper but don't see myself requiring a $50 Scott binder for them. Small specialty areas really..... Any other commercial binders out there that are of a similar size to take the Scott pages. I see that Palo has some nice unlabeled binders and slip cases, anyone give those a try? Thanks for any advice. John

Are the pages 3-hole punched? If so, Lighthouse binders *might* work. I have 8.5" by 11" pages in my Vario-G binders, but they would probably fit pages that are an inch or so bigger in each direction. 8.5" pages in page protectors fit comfortably, for example. You can get them on ebay for around $25-$30 (slipcase included), less if you buy 3 or more at a time.

These are 2 holed, but could easily be made into 3 holed. I'll check on your suggestions... really like the Lighthouse stockbooks for example.

Subway Stamp Shop sells a padded vinyl 3-ring binder that will fit that size of page:

I use quite a few of these for my collections.

Cheers,
Terry.

I think Lighthouse Vario binders look great, but you probably want to wait for some other collectors to chime in before making a purchase. The dimensions of the Vario-G classic binders I use are 12 1/4"H x 11.5"D x 3"W. Keep in mind that the depth listed includes about 1.5" taken up by the rings, so about 9.5-10" would be the usable depth for actual pages. I'm thinking your pages will fit into that binder, but they might be a little too close to the edges for comfort, but it's worth looking into.

On another note, I'm guessing that with most 3rd-party binders, you might have to re-punch the holes, as I think Scott International pages are punched only for International binders, and vice versa. I'm thinking it's Scott's way of making you buy their binders if you want their pages. You could also check on ebay for used Scott International binders as you might be able to score a deal. There always seems to be a few available, and I have to think that your pages will look best in the album designed to hold them, and you wouldn't have to re-punch them.

Thanks Artful, these are 30 cents a page prints from one of the well known album page printers, not original Scott's. I have no compunction against re-punching them to 3 hole! For my small 'dead contries' interests I'm actually pursuing the used route first. I have a dealer acquaitance who will be bringing several for me to browse through at a Feb.show. Just checking the Lighthouse site, it looks like their Vario Classic Grande w/slipcase would easily be a large enough binder. Now, if he can prduce a couple of those slightly used I'd be in binder heaven. The Palo Deluxe binders w/slipcaes at $25 also look promising, you have to like basic black though.

Just to conclude my own, old thread......I am using the Scott Specialized pages and Yes, those do fit in Lighthouse Classic Grande binder with slipcase. I've gotten two of those at $28 complete. I have them in Blue to comprise my own version of "Big Blue" and contrast with the US "Burgundy" binders.
