S.G.#427 ...other than 4 shades and an inverted watermark, Stanley Gibbons Specialised Catalogue has no varieties listed for this stamp. A non-constant variety seems appropriate in that case.

It looks the flaw is quite constant. I found two stamps with this spelling against some more with the standart. I'll show a picture later. But if some other people check their GV 9p stamps, they may find it too. |

Thanks -----now if its a constant flaw all I need to do is run a ad ,offering to buy this flaw for $15.00 each and offer to sell it for $30.00 each ,then send a copy of the advertising to Scott catalog and S.G. in England and then see who lists it in next years catalogs ....lol...remember someone got to make a market in them to get listed . |

floortrader, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Your money move is ebay, "Rare plate error reentry GENUINE RARE!" In the description you can say, "Many experts say totally genuine!" I want half. |

In fact I found some examples only on 1935 issues (not on 1924). On closer inspection it looks the 'c' is not so ideal, though 'g' is not perfect either. Comparing SG447 with earlier issues of 9p shows that, while earlier prints were considerably sharper, SG447 is a little blurred due to the printing technique being inferior. Strong magnification shows less difference than it seems at first glance, yet these two letters on the stamps shown (see picture) are not exactly the same. |

It looks on issues of 1930s 'G' regularly resembles 'C' too. Here is 10p picture: hardly any difference btw them. |

These "C" for "G" look more convincing than this world famous British Commonwealth stamp that's up for auction right now . Here they are calling the "c" in PENCE a "O" ,to me its a clear "c"--- |

The 9d, 10d and shilling stamps have no listed variety such as that in Stanley Gibbons Specialised Stamp Catalogue. |

floortrader,
they made a mistake, it is not the PENOE variety, it is from another position on the plate,
