Here is a fine article from Philatelic Database about
Modern Australian Stamp Printers by Richard Breckon

Quote:
One of the confusing aspects of modern Australian stamps is the large number of printing firms that have been involved in stamp production. The range of stamp printers has embraced Asher & Co., Leigh Mardon Pty Ltd, Cambec Press, CPE Australia, Avon Graphics, Permara Labels, Prinset Cambec, McPherson's Printing Group and SNP Cambec. Since 1977, the names of 22 firms have been associated with Australian stamp production.

Lithograving, this is indeed a most interesting article and one that I stumbled across a few days ago myself.

I think that the modern era of Australian printers used for stamp production is among the most confusing of any country! Or at least I did feel that way until this article was read.

Richard is well-known for his accuracy in the articles that he produces and I commend the link to all interested in the stamp output of Australia.
