Is there any stamp society or group that specializes in stamp production like printing and perforating?

I doubt it.

I wish there was but I am afraid there is just a small group of 10 (at the most?) persons world-wide interested AND studying this field.

Gathering existing information is one thing, expanding our knowledge is another thing that gets very difficult nowadays as postal administrations do not bother to archive and stamp printers care about their trade secrets.

I am mostly into perforations. However, changes in the printer and/or printing affects perforations too.

Jogil, as Galeoptix states, I also do not think that there has ever been a group dedicated to stamp production, as such, anywhere in the world. Had there been, I would have been a member!

I believe that this Forum is the closest that we will ever get, and it is certainly proving to be a popular resource among the few who do get excited by production methods. It is also instantaneous, rather than waiting for a quarterly printed magazine to appear.

@ jogil

Why don't you start a thread here about the various types
of perforations.

Whatever expertise you have on the subjects would help
someone looking for that kind of information.

@jogil, I could send you a link to such a present-day production company, if you want to explore how to print/perforate "local post" stamps/Cinderellas from now on.
But if your question is about the study of regular stamps that were printed in the past, then...I will continue to look for useful answers for you.
Email me, if you are interested.

Hi Galeoptix, 65170, lithograving and DC3. Thanks for all of your responses. lithograving: I will try to answer perforation questions when they come up on this forum as best as I can which is a start for me on here. DC3: Thank you for your offer for a link for a private modern stamp production company. My collecting interest is mainly in the engraving and perforating of old Canadian postage stamps from the British American Bank Note Company (BABN) from 1930-1935. Thanks.
