I'm having trouble deciding if this is number 19ii or number 5. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

According to my 2012 Unitrade catalogue:

Number 5 will measure 22mm x 22.5mm and is printed on thick porus wove paper. The colour is Brown Violet
Number 19i (no ii) is listed as watermarked with a colour of reddish brown. Unitrade also lists a number 19a coloured orange brown and a number 19b which is chocolate brown. None of which are identified as watermarked.

My 2006 Scott Classic Catalogue warns that forgeries exist of all numbers between 1 - 23.

bigmel222 and aglunt

This is a little more complex, and in fact there is an old link on this site which I would recommend you read.

As a Newfoundland only collector, I love this stamp. I'd also recommend relying on Walsh/Butts catalog as a supplement with much more detail than Unitrade.
It is called the Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue...

Very nice stamp even with the cut into the design on the left margin; this one looks genuine to me but I always keep in mind that the forgeries are collectable as well as the real thing. I bid on any of the pence issues if the price is below a certain threshold; if you get them for a decent price, they are worth it regardless if they are real or faked.
