I've got a few overprints on George V stamps. One though looks a bit odd because of the looped "G". Any comments or ideas?

Hi CollGStamps...I think what you have here is a common over inking of the overprint...When I run it through my program to bring out only the over print, the BLUE arrow shows heavier than normal ink...The GREY arrow shows even more heavy ink..I think it is bleeding..That might cause the "G" to look like it is filled in..Just my personal opinion..See picture below.

Thank you for your opinion. I did not see it this way, you might be right. On the other hand, it's just a reason for "G" to be the way it is. A lot of (un)common varities can thus be expalined. I wonder if this happens regularly on this particular stamp (then it is more than overinking), or unknown, then you are double right.

CollGStamps..It is just Y opinion...Maybe some one will chime in with another one like yours and then it may be a constant..good luck.

I am trying to imagine how precise the overinking should have been to perform such a good match. Also I am showing some more stamps bearing the same overprint. The lettering seems identical from my point of view. So could there be a different reason for "G" so uncommon?
