My experience is that used books on any philatelic topic can be purchased for less from the dealers affiliated with Amazon, ABE, and even ebay than from a stamp dealer.

"My experience is that used books on any philatelic topic can be purchased for less from the dealers affiliated with Amazon, ABE, and even ebay than from a stamp dealer." Quite true, but it often depends on what you are looking for, the OP doesn't mention any particulars. You could wait a long time for some specialist works to come up on ebay......so if it is a case of "I must have this now.", a dealer may be your only bet.

I prefer auction sites as well. With a little patience you should be able for find anything at a reasonable price.

There are always great auctions going on around the country, including club auctions, philatelic exhibition auctions, ebay, and so on.

Additionally, there are a couple of philatelic libraries that sell donated books at great prices.

The Northwest Philatelic Library always has books for sale, along with books that can be checked out. I'm having a hard time finding that list on the website, but you can contact Orlie Trier at nwpl@qwestoffice.net for a complete list of books for sale. Some are very reasonably priced!

Additionally, you can contact Sergio Lugo at the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Society for a list of books they have for sale as well (rmpl@qwestoffice.net)
