The first stamp is two French islands, Wallis and Futuna, in the South Pacific. In 1842 missionaries residing there appealed for hel to France after a rebellion of some of the local population.. The last stamp is French Croatia. I believe Croatia gained her independence sometime after WW2, I stand to be corrected.. I do love the overprints.

Croatia's "independence" as the NDH from 1941-45 was really via a Nazi-backed puppet government, so really didn't gain full independence until 1995.

I never heard of any French Croatia. If it's "Franco" that make you believe that, it is wrong believing. Franco is a french term like in "Franco de port". It means the cost of mailing or delivring is include in the price. Daniel

It's Croatia 1941 postage due Scott 27. Value is $0.75 mh in Scott 2007

So Franco is likely the currency not an occupation as the NDH was the "independent" state of Croatia, but I don't have my catalog with me.

I hope it's no big deal. We are all in the family and enjoying the hobby.

Franco is not a currency. Overprinted on a stamp I don't know precisely
the usage. In general it means what I wrote before. Would need more infos on that. Daniel

About the Wallis and Futuna stamp. It's a 1 centime de franc or 1 franc divided by a hundred. It is part of a 28 stamps set. The first of Wallis and Futuna. French territories and colonies are appealing to collect and cheaper than the British Empire. Thanks for posting these stamps. Daniel
