Just got this FDC with the 1c Bookbinding missing grey on "1". Also has a slight blue colour shift. Is this in the new Unitrade Cat. yet?

Coinwatcher - when I enlarge my screen to 200%, your "1" is a light shade of gray, not white.

I have the same FDC, singles, blocks, etc., and all look white until I examine them more closely with a magnifying glass, then I can see they are actually gray. If you have acorner block, look at the traffic lights and you'll see how light the gray colour is. The "white 1" is a lighter colour than "CANADA", in the 1688iv "white 1" variety.

The Unitrade value for a MNH single is $400.00

BlackJag is correct ...look at the pick below (again) and the number "1" is a different colour than the words..If there was NO gray, the number should be the same colour as the words.

OK I am at the direct source of colour saturation on my Canon Zoombrowser program and here is what the actual image displays when fully saturated. If I look at the stamp with a 10x magnifier there is no grey on the 1. I do not think that the secondary image enhancement is a true display. It seems to be picking up the blue colour shift.

Your Canon shot also takes the colour out of the tips of the swirly thing. Perhaps a member who is/was a printer could explain what we're seeing.
