Packing stuff up for my move and decided to scan some desk goodies I hadn't yet searched. Although I didn't keep this out long enough to see wether or not it was 39 or 43 (I think 39). I don't see a "Balloon Dot" variety for either in unitrade but there are listings for multiple position dots on a couple large queens. Has anyone else came across this or is it possibly listed in Hans Reiche plate studies? I know there have been several shown on SCF with ink splatter but with all 3 dots in LL only I would think this is from the guide dots.

Multiple dots are quite common. In my collection I have a page showing 1st Ottawa printings with o, 1, 2 and 3 dots. Nothing unusual here but neat to recognize.

Removed the unlisted variety in title to avoid confusion.
Would multiple guide dots be from earlier states of the plates and only in certain positions or vice versa where extra needed to be added for better positioning? I know generally things were burnished off plates as time went on . I also have the 12.5 large queen with balloon dot variety and I believe I read it was caused from bouncing or flapping of the plate . If that was the cause then I would assume these were not from specific plate positions.
