Guan Hanqing, known as the "Old Man of the Studio," was a notable Chinese playwright and poet during the Yuan Dynasty. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of the dramatist, designed by Vasili Vasilievich Zavialov (1906-1972), and issued by Russia (USSR) on December 5, 1958 to commemorate the 700th anniversary of Guan Hanqing's theatrical work, Scott No. 2146, Zagorski No. 2172, plus an image of the original Chinese work of art which was the model for this stamp's design.
As a follow up to my previous post above, here are images of the three stamps in a set honoring Chinese playwright Guan Hanqing (illustrating, respectively, a scene from his play The Butterfly Dream, a portrait of the playwright, and a scene from his play The Riverside Pavilion), engraved and printed on yellow paper, and issued by China (People's Republic) on June 20, 1958, Scott Nos. 355-57.
