even if I won this I would not have the room for it, I live west coast a u-haul would save shipping and my sister lives in california to drive it to me.

after buying this collection you wouldn't have to buy on ebay for the rest of your life lol

I looked at that listing last night. A lot of low-end material in there which doesn't bode well for the overall value. It's a case of quantity over quality, in my opinion.

I've purchased from him before. Last summer he had a run of old-school stockbook lots all from the same source. I bought about 30 of them in bundles. He's very willing to deal, and his asking prices are artificially high and he knows it. Don't be surprised if he's willing to come down by 50% or more.

Some lots that I bought from this seller:

I've only done a handful of ebay transactions so far, most being abour 15 years ago just as I was going in to college. I'd buy discounted specials like "10,000 Russia for only $100!". I knew there'd probably be a good amount of duplication, CTO and nothing to terribly high in the cat value. But it was a great jumpstart to my collection as well as some trading fodder.

This last weekend I found a huge storage tub of random stamp stuff I had in storage at my parent's house and had forgetten in the back of my closet when I moved out here. Inside was a small box I got from ebay for about $20 dollars after shipping. Once I dug past the usual lower value singles and not so good shape covers I found a handful of approval pages with Russian overprinted Hitler heads, earlier Russia and a bunch of BOB with airplanes that my husband would love in his album.

So you still find occasional deals on ebay even if takes 15 years to remember you bought them.

And sometimes you find stuff you already have stuffed away in a closet somewhere. Those are REAL treasures.

Or how about nice treasure in a harris/ scott album lot such as a nicely centered and cancelled #117 pictoral along with a decent #115, a full C1-C6 set and a couple mid-value columbians, with 1000's of other common/rarer early issues for less than $200 shipped
