CenterStage:

I don't know that the rules have ever been codified. I'll make a dangerous statement by saying, "use common sense."

1. Keep your offer simple --- easy to execute and monitor.
2. It's not forbidden for new members to participate, but be wary. If you wish, you can impose your own "must have 50 posts" to participate.
3. There are several old giveaways in the "ended" forum that you can review as examples

If you have a specific question, just let me know.

Kirk

Yeah, we never got around to specific rules but Kirk gives good advice. The Staff keeps an eye out, our Spidey sense is usually right on the money.

Hi all.

Kirks, nice post. I just stumbled on it. It appears that I am somewhat mentally challenged when it comes to being able find & use all the benefits that our Stamp Community has to offer.

I mistakenly posted a message on the, "Contests, Quizes and Giveaway (ended)" topic. May I assume that I can post it here without violating the rules? I have a lot of foreign stamps that I want to share with our community.

Thanks, Mud

That's very generous of you, Mud.

Why don't you wait a week or so until you have 50 posts --- that will give us all a chance to get to know you. Then you can create a giveaway.

When I was a new member, I thought I'd never reach 50, but trust me, they will come quickly.

Kirk

<ps. i'll take care of the other thread>

Kirk, I should have seen your post sooner. I am going to let the whole world know that I have really made a mess of things between me and the Staff.

I received a notice from the staff that I violated a rule/s before seeing this kind post of Kirk's. I took that notice of violation personally and I sent them a rather unfinessful, unnecessary (seeing that now)retort stating that I didn't violate any rules,(among other things) when if fact I had violated a rule. I had two posts with the exact same titles, but not identical content (before Kirk removed one for me). I'm guessing that the Notice is generated automatically?

The staff have not replied to the above mentioned retort. I figure they are giving me, either enough time to hang myself or giving me breathing room.

I'm learning, but I do have somewhat of a problem with comprehension and retention of information, so I am asking you all to bear with me and eventually, I'll "get it".

I present this with all sincerity,

John or Mud

LOL, Mud.

Hangings are rare around here, but when they do happen, they usually come from "ADMIN" and they're usually quite swift

But you are good with me, friend. I only ask that you hit the 50 post milestone because we try to protect all our members. I am NOT questioning YOUR integrity, but we like to get to know our friends before we start trading, buying, selling, etc. Most of us would do the same thing at an actual stamp club meeting in our hometown.

But please do hang around, share, learn, ask/answer questions, etc.

Kirk

Thank you ever so much Kirk! WILCO, that means I understand and will comply.

Again Kirk, thank you.
