I happen to collect, perhaps foolishly, the modern US imperfs. Being retired, I have the time to buy the press sheets, cut them up into panes and/or blocks & share them with some collector friends, most of whom are still gainfully employed. For the Harvey Milk issue, I needed just enough panes that I had to purchase 2 12-pane press sheets without die-cuts. Then, having forgotten that I had placed an order, I did it again! I suppose I could have returned 2 of the press sheets to the USPS in exchange for something else but in the end I decided to just live with my mistake. And, to make the situation worse, I did this for my least favorite issue of the year!
I have been selling some of the extras on
ebay & have had some success in getting rid of them ... but 32+ panes? I'm definitely going to have some left, even after using 3 full panes on one of my granddaughter's packages.
But perhaps my stupidity can be a boon for others. I will give a Harvey Milk plate block to the first 40 individuals who ask for one. There are 4 plate blocks in each pane ... the extra 4 stamps in each pane will be used to mail the plate blocks. If you would like one, please ask!
I will be surprised though if I actually get 40 takers. In which case my postage heap will be a bit taller.
