Scott # 169 And 165 - Cockeyed King..?

Hi guys...I am terrible with this oddity, can you help and tell me if these stamps are the "cockeyed King" type or is my eye cockeyed...haha

no. It only happen on 2c Green, red and Brown Coil (left of line pairs)

So is this one considered a cockeye? is it the colour that is missing in the pupil that you look for?

It is a white looking eye and the stamp is always to the left of the coil plate line. Are there some lines in the "2" on the right side?

Hi wert,
I always had trouble with this one. When you show the variety next to a normal issue, you cannot miss the difference. However, when you look at each stamp by itself, it is not so easy to decide because even the normal issue has very strong differences between the left and right eyes.

I have found that the key is to look at the left side eyelid. The lines where it meets the eye are lighter on the cockeyed variety and there is a light area just above this.

Does anybody have a high quality 1200 dpi scan of the whole stamp for this variety to share? I am working on a website project that could really use a good shot of this. I am glad to share more details and photo credit for anyone that can help me out.
