I was checking my covers recently and I noticed that on some covers, the final destination country postmark is not present on the cover. Is that normal? or each cover should have two postmarks (once from the departure location and the other one from the arrival location).
Some friends told me that the cover might loose its authenticity if it doesn't have the final location postmark.
It's quite common, especially with modern covers not to have any final location postmarks on the cover. It was more common in the 19th century and early 20th century for the receiving post office to place a postmark on the cover - usually on the back. Modern covers usually only have them if a special service like registered mail is used.
