Just watched this video about Scott's improved Speciality stamp album binders. Can't quite decide whether or not this is a good feature or serious overkill.

That is what I dislike about them, too. I can see where it might be a useful feature on the big Scott binders, 3" and more in thickness, but on the slim 1.5" and 2" binders traditional bookbinding techniques should be more than adequate. I see some of their binders can accommodate 300 or more pages - I believe a maximum of 100 pages is ideal. Easier and safer handling, less strain on the binding, and nicer appearance.

I agree. I'm using 1 1/2" binders now for everything, because I like the look of them and they're not too heavy or big to handle.

Do you think we might get a deal from Scott on the normal 1.5" binders? Worth a shot?

What's the hinge made of??? High quality stainless steel or cheap chrome plated metal that will eventually chip and start to rust?
