I was wondering if anyone knows the approximate value of a full set of first day covers from the queens inauguration in 1953? There doesn't seem to be any stamp dealers left in Nova Scotia to ask. I was thinking about selling my entire collection but it seems I'd have to travel to Montreal to do so. But I am curious the most about the value of the set (14) of first day covers of the queen.

It would be good if you could post some images here, especially of any that you think are more scarce.

I do collect FDCs from this era, but I am not an expert on this issue. If there are 14 different cachets, then some will probably be more scarce. Their value will depend on condition, scarcity and demand. It is difficult to guess a price without some sold examples to base it on.

You can check ebay sold listings to see if any that you have were sold, and at what price.

As already mentioned... it all depends! Many CDS, slogans, cachets exist and they number much more than 14. Different companies did their own take on the Coronation and provided FDC's. Perhaps you mean an omnibus edition of 14 from different countries of the Commonwealth? In that case it still depends on country of issue, cachet, postmark, condition etc. Anything from a few pounds to hundreds of pounds per cover is possible... it all depends.
Post a few pictures.

Hi Planzeman,

You may find this outfit useful for information on buying and their pricing, but please note it was Queen Elizabeth II's coronation, not inauguration.

I'm not sure what you mean by a full set of 14 covers. Canada only issued a single stamp for the Queen's Coronation in 1953. There were many cachets produced and the stamp was available across the country resulting in many different possible cancellations. Covers normally sell for a couple of dollars each.
