Crikey ikeypikey! Where did you find that? I've been working on a Canada War Tax exhibit for the past year (finally coming to fruition) and that is perfect for my opening page! What's the source please?

James, Greetings:

Hey, man, its the internet: I found it while looking for something else, of course.

Goodness, I've made someone happy and I haven't even had my morning coffee.

Cheers,

Like you Jamesw, I have had a couple of SCF members who posted messages in here that I was able to use on my album pages. This is especially true with postal history and postcards, and certainly, this should also apply to the stamps as well.

Ha! I've been googling and interneting on this subject for several months now. Managed to find all sorts of info (as well as using good ol' fashioned books), but admittedly never thought to check US Postal bulletins out of Washington.
Now of course I've got to change the layout of page 1, but well worth it!
Thanks again.

James

jamesw - that very notice or similar would have appeared in P.O.D. postal guides.

The notice is also in the June 5,1915, issue of "Mekeels Weekly Stamp News," page 200, column 3, about half way down the page. It's really interesting to read these old newspapers...Ken

Now that I re-read it, the USPOD notice *does* have a sort of "news from the front" feel to it.

Hi Jamesw and all.

Yes, we are planning to go to the Barrie show, barring that no family problems arise. Linda's father 'flat-lined' in ICU last Monday and within half an hour he rallied. He seems to be improving. I just hope he continues on.

Good luck on your exhibit and I hope you win the gold. BTW - who are the judges this year?

My best to Linda and her Dad. The show isn't until October (I put a notice in the upcoming events thread). As for judges, I have no idea. They never tell me nuthin'!
