I just can't help but admire the Unitrade Canada stamp catalog, especially the ones with Robin Harris as editor. I like them so much that I have been collecting them since the 2006 issue which was the first one with Robin Harris as its editor. It was a real treat to get the 2014 catalog at a local stamp show since it saved on its shipping.

jogil...The catalogue itself is an amazing collection of data..I give full credit to the people working behind the scene gathering information that is printed in this bible of Canadian stamp information..The job of the editor is to make sure all information relevant to stamp details is input correctly into this catalogue....Those are to me the people that make it what it is today.

Unitrade is the only catalogue I refer to when it comes to Canadian stamps.

I used to refer to Scotts when I was young to collecting but once I saw a Unitrade, a number of years ago, I was impressed with the information and the grading. those facts, plus the information added and pricing for plate blocks, early singles on cover etc.

What is also a bonus is that the catalogue will also list reference books pertaining to the different collecting interests in the appropriate eras.

A 5* catalogue - for sure. I do wish though there was a market for used editions <sigh>.

There is one thing that Unitrade should do for stamp collectors that would be a bonus..That is utilize computers in their way of thinking about perforations...This would only add a pocket on the last (thick) page of their catalogue....In there they could incorporate a sleeve with a CD in it...In this CD is a FREE Image Manipulation Program with a transparent gauge and a PDF tutorial that I wrote to do exact classification of stamp perfs. as shown in the picture below...I dont take credit for the gauge but for the program and PDF.

Wert: While using this gauge, do you notice any difference between Canada perf. 12 before and after # 398-399-400-401?

Hello Wert. What software are you using? Does the software work on a Mac? I use the app Stamp Analyser but its not perfect on classic stamps that are of darker color.
