Ridgeway, SC Pss# 724 Only One Listed?

I'm hoping someone can help me with the two stamps on the top row of the scan. PSS Catalog only list one Town and Type for Ridgeway, SC #724. But I came across these. The font is different, and it really looks like a precancel and not a post cancel. The sloping down of "way" is even the same on both stamps. Any clues?

The cancels at top were once listed but have been de-listed - I am not sure why, but they are probably proved to be post cancels.
From the Cummings reference:
The single subject Old Type 2 has a comma after the city and wider letters than the 724.

Prexys: 1, 4½, 5, 8, 13, 14, 15, 19, 30
Libertys: 8
