Thought this might fit best in this section.
Tomorrow is my annual stamp club boars (Barrie District Stamp Club, come on down!!) and for the second year I am entering an exhibit.
I've developed an interest in Canadian War Tax stamps of WWI, and have spent the past year collecting and researching.
Here's the final product which I will unveil tomorrow at the show. Hope you enjoy it, as much as I enjoy creating it.

Wonderful presentation.

However, my proofreading skills force me to point out a typo on page 8, figure 30. The slogan cancel should read: "...LEND IT TO YOUR COUNTRY" (not "COUNTY").

AAARGH! Thanks WT1.
You know how many times I've read this?
Since it's an easy fix (not a pile of mounts) I'll revise right away.
Man! it never ends.

edit- Page revised. Thanks again, but these are in their frames, and I'm NOT taking them apart again. Well, I probably would if I had to, but prefer not.

An excellent one-frame exhibit, made me do a google-map to see what's at 401 Yonge St, I used to work at the Book Cellar just up the road at Charles & Yonge in the early 70's. I remember a stamp shop between the two, on the west side, a European gentleman ran it, used to pop in during my lunch breaks..

Wonderful exhibit - attractive and informative too. You might consider adding precancels of the postal issues. There are about 30 different, most very hard to find.

Hello all.
In the end it was a good day. My exhibit won a gold medal, as well as the club's President's Award for Best in Show and the Bill Irvine Memorial Award for best British North America.

Chasa I will be adding more stamps, though I think just as an addendum to the exhibit (as opposed to expanding it). I'm not really interested in postal precancels (though I guess I wouldn't turn them away if they presented themselves), but I will be hunting down the revenue precancels that I had referenced. They are pricey, so it will be a long hunt. I also have the fourth surcharge from page 11 (FX30) purchased, but it didn't make it in time from Vancouver to be included. Also I've been working on collecting some international War Tax stamps (picked up a Malta and Bahamas overprints and a Bahrain stamp today). So the collection will continue.

But for today, my work here is done.

Cheers!

Excellent news. I agree you should keep your presentation just as it is to show exactly what was judged and the award presented for it. Expand it as you please in the future, just keep the original intact, too.

Too late to be included in the exhibit, but my FX30 surcharged war tax stamp finally arrived. Should have been on page 11. Will now appear on an addendum page.

A gentle poke from Rod has prompted me to add a couple of items to this post, acquired since the exhibit was created, and added to addendum pages.

Booklet pane FWT8c

FWT23 Wine strip - Head upright

War tax, excise tax and transfer tax on piece. Back of stock certificate

FWT7 used illegally as postage. Revenue stamps were not to be used as war tax payments on mail.

FWT2 overprint

And finally an interesting item. A 1925 card from Toronto stamp dealer Milton Ritter illustrating (though not very clearly) the differences between the two dies of the MR3 2+1˘ war tax stamp.

So, you see, I've not been idle.
Thanks Rod.

A Joy to behold James.
That collection shall last 100 years or so.
Collectors rarely break up such work.

Yikes...2117
Maybe some lonely interplanetry traveller, will take it up to Mars
to pass the time on the trip.
