Now that the last batch of stamps has been announced in "Details" (October No.9) I am wondering if Canada Post is under the illusion that the War of 1812-14 ended in 1813?
I guess we will have no celebration of our decisive victory at Lundy's Lane, our audacious burning of the White House, or our embarrassing naval defeat in Plattsburg Bay.
I wonder, too, if the Americans will ignore the Battle of New Orleans, which took place in 1815 (after the war was over!)

Dropped as well was the continuing series on children's literature. Looks like there'll be no recognition of Caillou of French-Canadian origin.

No the USPS will probably not ignore the Battle of New Orleans. If you read the initial press release from 2012, you will see that it actually mentions all the stamps that have been released so far as well as the Battle of New Orleans. That makes me feel that the Battle of New Orleans will be the last stamp in the series.

Harper and his gang will not do or say anything to offend the USA Republicans - including mentioning the story of the "white house" and why it is white, and those 'rockets red glare": they sing about at ball games - which were us and our government bombing and burning Washington.

How come the Beatles 50th anniversary of their first tour of North America was overlooked by Canada Post and the USPS?
Considering the brand and the market for things "Beatles" it was a no brainer.

Yes, graphis, and while Canadians embraced the British invasion in 1964, they repulsed the American invasion in 1814!
