Hello,

Wondering if anyone has an idea on this stamps ID. I haven't been able to identify it. Thank you!

Just a guess, but it looks like maybe a 13Pii Plate Proof, judging by the lettering style at the bottom - but my Unitrade shows that one with a diagonal "SPECIMEN" overprint, and this one looks like it has some clipped perforations at the upper right and lower left. I'm no expert and I don't have any Nova Scotia proofs, but this stamp looks quite different than my regular #13.

I'm suspecting a forgery closely trimmed to hide the fact that it was not perf 12...though I'm scratching my head with what looks like reproduced perfs.

I'm on a mobile and don't have my NS at hand, but I agree it doesn't look as crisp as what I remember mine to look like.

That was my first suspicion too - that it almost looks like a bad album illustration that was cut out and perforated and then most of them trimmed off - but I don't have any Nova Scotia proofs to compare it to other than the illustration in Unitrade. Vicky looks a bit cross-eyed too.

Here is my (slightly stained and raggedy) copy of a 13:

Agree with above. This stamp appears to be a forgery.

forgery...Someone cut the perfs close to make it look like a proof plate...Not a very good job at doing it either...Look how easy it is to create a false proof plate...i did it to my stamp as you can see...Just my opinion.

BTW......to the forum Columbian12

And as you can see on your stamp, some one left half perfs.

What you are pointing to, Wert, in the above picture, seems to be photocopied outlines of perfs,

Sak...Almost looks like some one put a black border over the stamp and photo copied it...?

From a picture in a book.
