Hello. I'm having trouble with identifying this variety. One variation of this stamp has thicker, complete lines to the left of the bird. The other has thinner, incomplete lines to the left. I have two that seem to have complete lines but don't seem to have the right color. I have attached picture from a old catalogue identifyer that I found online. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Maverickx, I've got the 2006 version of this catalogue. There are 3 major types that are separated by perforations and watermarks. 1. Multiple Crown and C of A watermark (Perf 13.5 x 14) Dull Green and Dull Yellow Green 2. Multiple Crown and C of A watermark (Perf 14.75 x 14) Dull Green,Deep Dull Green and Yellow-Green 3. No Watermark (Perf 14.75 x 14) Dull Green
If you want any other information from the catalogue, let me know. Stephen |

Thank you, Stevie! What is your opinion on the above close up pictures of the stamps I have posted above? Does the "green mist" variety have a watermark? What varieties do they look to be? Sorry about the multiple pics. I will try to take some more and organize them better, if needed. Thanks! |

Maverickx,
The green mist variety is quite distinct. None of your pictures show such variety. There may be a previous discussion on this topic. Use the search tool. Good luck. |

Thank you, Partime. The catalogue above doesn't seem too descriptive. It seems like it should note the color and boldness of the lines compared to the regular. |

Maverick, it isn't a catalog issue. When it comes to varieties and things like this the only real way to tell is to compare it side by side with a known example or a few known examples. Without knowing exactly what you're looking for a catalog is just a book with pricing. |

The image Partime referred to is shown below. The key part of the recut as I understand it is in the middle part where I've reversed the colour. The recut looks like about 20 scratched horizontal lines. This apparently was the second used copy found. Stephen |
