In the latest issue of Linn's Stamp News there is a listing of Christmas related named post offices in the US. The North Pole, NY post office is always included in the list. However, the zip code is listed as 12946 which is the Zip Code of Lake Placid, NY. Before 2004 North Pole was station of Lake Placid. Now it is a station of Wilmington, NY 12997.
I have emailed Linns 3-4 times over the past 10 years that the information is incorrect and each year they continue to print the wrong zip. I wonder how many covers are sent to the Lake Placid post office which need to be forwarded onto the correct post office.
Maybe send them the link from the Postal Bulletin showing the 2014 postmark and the correct address to send for it (third example shown on the list at the link below)?
The two places are less than 5 driving miles from each other and still very popular; however they seem to be using a P.O. Box in zip 12997 http://www.northpoleny.com/
