Hello again everyone,

I can across some revenue in a stamps I recently bought online and noticed the stamp below on the right has Washington's head shifted to the right and thought it was really cool.

Was this common for these types of stamps?

These early issues with two colors were done with each color separately, so registration problems were not uncommon. These stamp designs can be fun to find sunken or floating heads, but they are not costly to assemble.

On some of these stamp issues, they also sometimes fed the sheet upside-down for one of the colors, which would result in an "inverted" head or design. Those are really rare and DO command a much higher price.

This stamp is one of the most common of the inverted centers, a reasonably nice one is about $300.
